Corporate Responsibility & Social Value Strategies

Consumers are demanding solutions to things like climate change, pollution, slave labour, plastics in the food chain, obesity, food labelling, animal welfare, pay inequality and helping disadvantaged people succeed.

For CEOs who want to lead their industries in finding and implementing solutions to some of these challenges it can be difficult to know what they could do.  In the past society relied upon  government and politicians to introduce legislation to tell them how to address key problems and challenges but waiting for politicians to force through change is dangerous and presents an enormous risk to your brand’s reputation if things blow up whilst the Government is deciding what to do.  You don’t have to be breaking the law to be condemned by the court of public opinion.

So what can you do? Well that’s where we come in.

  • We identify ways businesses and organisations can use their resources to help address a social problem connected to their industry or benefit a specific region or community.
  • We design strategies which make commercial sense for both the business and society (because businesses aren’t charities; they are the lifeblood of our nation and we need them to thrive)and;
  • We help businesses implement the solutions they decide upon.

Our services include:

  • Ideas generation. What issues or challenges are there in your sector that you can address, where are the opportunities and where might you start?   We'll help you think 'out of the box' with ideas that match your vision and values and are aligned with your commercial strategy.

  • Policy & regulatory analysis.  We'll help you consider what social value interventions would best dovetail with the policy context of your industry.

  • Reviewing and updating your ‘CSR’ strategy or devising a new one, and aligning it with your core strategic aims and purpose in order to build social as well as economic value for your business.

  • Maximising stakeholder value.  Ensuring your business operates in a way which benefits all your stakeholders, not just your shareholders.

  • Strategic communication strategies which maximise the value of this investment for your brand.

  • Supply chain development activity to ensure your spend is as local as possible and there are social enterprises embedded in your supply chain.

  • Third sector partnerships and alliances.   Helping you build partnerships and offer support to community & third sector organisations who are on the ground, delivering support to your target community.

  • Project Management.  All aspects of the project management, delivery and co-ordination of social value and community benefits projects.

  • Internal & external stakeholder engagement.  Stakeholder mapping and profiling and working with your staff, suppliers, clients, investors and communities to find out what they value, and improve understanding about your activities.

  • Political sensitivity and political awareness training for key staff in order to enable them to recognise and respond to threats when they occur and influence more effectively and with sensitivity to different viewpoints.
